Influencer marketing has become one of the popular forms of online marketing. Instead of just having a celebrity endorsement help drive the brand, you also place it into a modernized campaign that is driven by its content. Influencer marketing does not only involve celebrities, but it also included influencers who have the power to persuade users to purchase something and has a distinct niche that they are known for. The reason these influencers are keen to this form of marketing is because despite them having a large following, they are seen as ordinary people. These influencers can relate to the users by knowing what they truly like and don’t like. They also know the in’s and out’s of posting most engaging content that their views like to see.

The biggest advantage that an influencer can give is trust and credibility to their users. They share their lives nearly every day with their fan base and so sharing their honest feedback on a product or brand seems like a true testimony. Unlike, actors on commercials that show the perfect side of products and brands, influencers can actually show the raw and uncut sides of things whether it be through video, statues, photos, blogs, or live stories. Another advantage to influencer marketing is audience engagement. Once users see you collaborating with influencers, the quality of your content improves, and it shows that your brand is more user-friendly. Thanks to the sharing and tagging from the influencer’s popular social media profile of your brand, users are more likely to click on your page and increase your reach through likes, comments, and follows.

The ideal influencer I chose is De’arra Taylor from the popular YouTube couple known as DK4L. They currently have more than six million subscribers on YouTube, and that’s just from their main channel. De’arra alone, has gained five million followers on Instagram. On her page, she is known for posting stylish outfits that gain a lot of engagement. She sometimes tags some of the brands she is wearing just in case and fan may asked or due to collaboration from a brand.

I feel the brand that would best use De’arra for influencer marketing would be the popular retail company known as Fashion Nova. I could see Fashion Nova collaborating with her on a clothing line that is targeted for petite girls since she fits that physical description. There are a couple reasons as to why I think De’arra would be a perfect fit for promoting Fashion Nova and they are:

· De’arra is popular on multiple platforms which means the brand can reach more users that may not have ever of heard of the company.

· De’arra has a target audience which is millennials and is the same market Fashion Nova is targeting.

· De’arra has a distant niche in fashion due the amount of reach and engagement she receives every outfit she posts.

As you can see, influencer marketing is becoming a necessity for brand marketers. It helps drive engagement, reach, and credibility which are critical aspects in achieving a successful campaign for you brand. I feel the influencer I chose as an ideal influencer for a brand is perfect because she is popular on multiple platforms, targeted towards a specific audience, and has a distinct niche.
