How do I Receive My News?
Nowadays, there are so many regions to receive your news from, whether it being television newscasts, news sites, or even social media. You can also just receive your news from face-to-face contact as well. Whichever it may be, it is still interesting to see how others around you receive their news as well. I feel that people who have time on their hands during the day, like maybe a housewife or retired person, are more likely to tune into the daily newscasts to receive their news. I feel that busier people who may have crazy schedules are the ones who get their news from news sites and social media.
I feel that I can place myself in the busy people category because my main news source is social media and I sometimes use news sites. I am never really home during the day and when I am, I don’t think about tuning into the local or national news channels. Instead, I am surfing through my feed on my social media platforms and stumble across my news. I barely ever receive my news from face-to-face contact and if so, I use social media and news sites to back up the information I heard. An example of a message that I first heard from face-to-face contact was the death legendary NBA player, Kobe Bryant passing away in a plane crash along with his daughter, and seven other victims. I did not believe this to be true until I saw it with my own eyes all over social media and news sites. A message I received from a news site was the Senator Joe Biden became the 46th President of the United States. An example of a message I learned from social media was that pioneering actress Cicely Tyson passed away at 96 years old.
